Today's (30.03.2020) - Our Second Wedding Anniversary !!!
We had planned our Wedding Anniversary celebration in Capri, Italy but unfortunately we had cancelled our trip because of COVID-19 crisis. Now, we will be celebrating our Anniversary in Quarantine.
Two years back, we had our wedding in our home country Pakistan. As we both are crazy about travelling, we have been to 15 countries together and planning to travel more :)
Here is our experience in different countries and cities around the Globe for Honeymoon.
1. Seychelles
a. Silhouette Island:
The first country, we had visited after getting married was Seychelles. We stayed there for 5 nights in Hilton Labriz hotel & Spa in Silhouette Island and enjoyed one of the best beaches of the World with Turquoise water.
The temperature was just perfect and the luxurious Resort gave us the best honeymoon experience. We had spend most of the time in relaxing on the beach and pool side.

2. Turkey
a . Istanbul:
Our next travel destination for honey was Istanbul, Turkey. We stayed for 3 amazing days with lots of exploration of the city. Istanbul has lots to offer, As It was my first trip to Istanbul and Aoon had already been there so many times but for me, I didn't have enough of it. We will be definitely going back again.
We have been to the most romantic Bosphorus Cruise, Islamic historical sightseeing (Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Dolmabahce Palace) and indulge in true colors of Istanbul in Istiklal Street, Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazar.
b. Cappadocia:
To enjoy the unforgettable experience of Hot Air Balloon Ride, we went to Cappadocia, Turkey. We stayed there for 2 nights in a famous Cave Suite.
In the brightest sunny morning of April, flying in the air and surrounding with hundreds of air balloons and enjoying the mesmerizing view of the great canyons is totally out of this world.
In the surrounding of Cappadocia, there are lots of activities like quad biking, horse riding and also UNESCO heritage sights and underground city.
3. UAE
After having an amazing time on our Honeymoon, it was the time to start our newly wed life in UAE. As Aoon was living in Dubai for 4 years, he had already experience everything and known Dubai very well. He had already planned all the activities in UAE.
a. Dubai:
We have experienced the luxury of world most instagramed hotel Atlantis to the World tallest hotel Gevora, from the best staycation in Address Marina to Hilton Creek, enjoying the blessings of Ramadan in Madinat ul Jameriah to the historical sigh seeing, from enjoying the thrill of water parks in Wild wadi and Atlantis aqua park to the wonderland of Dubai parks and In-door ski resort.
We had experienced the best restaurants like Alyamna, Kleidoscope in Atlantis, Tresind in Nassimya hotel, Prime grill, GBK burger, Pancake lounge, Shake shack, Cheese Cake factory, PF Chang and many more, the sight seeing in Al seif and Lamer, box park, the best shopping experience in mall of emirates, Dubai mall and festival city.

b. Abu Dhabi:
To the Experience thrill of Abu Dhabi, we had planned a trip to Yas Island Abu Dhabi. We stayed there for 2 nights in Park Inn and enjoyed Yas water park and Ferrari World. We had also experience the luxurious Grand Millennium hotel and enjoyed their best Spa and Pool.
c. Ras ul Khama:
In order to get a break from daily routine, We had planned for a staycation in Accacia bin Majid in Ras ul Khama.
d. Sharjah:
Sharjah is famous for its Islamic culture- what would be a better place than enjoying the blessings of Ramadan over there. We used to have Iftar dinners at Sheraton Sharjah and enjoyed the view of the beach.
We had also enjoyed a staycation in Centro Sharjah and beat the heat in their swimming pool.
4. Poland
a. Krakow:
To enjoy the best of summers in Europe, we choose Krakow, Poland for 3 days. The city has lot to offer from its amazing experience of Cruising in Vistula River to Jewish Quarter, a famous Schneidler factory to amazing architecture and old town square.
5. France
a. Paris:
The capital of love and fashion- We had visited Paris the most romantic city in August.
We have been to the top of Eiffel tower, explored the museums of Paris and day Cruising in the river.
To experience the childhood again, we have reached to Disneyland, Paris and enjoyed wonderful rides and hot air balloon.
b. Lyon:
The city with amazing old town square and the land of two rivers. The narrow streets and road side café enhance the beauty of the city and make it the best place for the Couples.
6. Germany
In the end of 2018, Aoon got the career opportunity and I still needed to complete my Masters. We decided to move to Germany. I had already been lived in Germany for 2 years but moving again to Germany as a married couple was a very different experience.
a. Düsseldorf:
Düsseldorf is a city with an amazing old town, shopping district and cafés near the bank of the Rhein River and 360 degree view from the Top of Rhein Turm. The city also has an amazing Christmas market.
b. Köln:
The great history of the city, old town, incredible cathedral and one of the best Christmas market experiences made it one of the favorite German city for both of us.
c. Füssen:
To experience the Bavarian Alps, the Algäu Lake and Fairyland Castle Neuschwanstein castle and Hohenschwangau Castle, we packed our bag packs for the trip and enjoyed the amazing fall of Autumn in a world's famous Disneyland castle.
d. Munich:
The ultimate experience of Christmas can’t be completed without the visit of Christmas markets of Munich. The city has an amazing old town, shopping street and famous Marienplatz.
e. Dortmund:
It’s a home of famous BVB football team. The city has incredible old town with famous Reinoldi kirchi and Phoneix lake.
f. Bonn:
The old capital of West Germany- the city has a significant importance due to its rich architecture and history.
g. Passau:
Passau is a city in Bavarian state of Germany and has a distinctive from other cities as It has three flowing rivers within the city. We had amazing time over there by exploring the Italian style narrow streets and mesmerzing view of Danube, Inn and Ilz River.
h. Garmisch Partenkirchen:
Garmisch Partenkirchen is famous for its Skiing spot and neighboring valleys are considered to be best for tracking and hiking and lies near famous Zugspitz. To experience the Bavarian Alps and historical town of Garmisch and Partenkirchen, we had been there for one day and lost in the true bavarian beauty.

i. Berlin:
Exploring the German Capital was one of the most exciting experience for us. We have been stayed for almost 2 months together and explore main touristic places like Alexanderplatz, Check point Charlie, Brandenburg Gate, Berlin dome to hidden gems found in historical streets of Berlin.
j. Rothenburg ob der Tauber:
The Europe tour is totally incomplete if you haven't visited and experienced the medieval towns of Germany.
One of the most preserved with old city wall is Rothenburg ob der Tauber. We went there in one of the rainy days of winter and explore their narrow streets and famous wooden bricked buildings which takes back to medieval times.
k. Nuremburg:
The historical town of Nuremburg had a significant importance during World war II. We have been there in summers and enjoyed the beautiful summer vibes with a panoramic view of the old town from the Imperial castle of Nuremburg.
7. Netherlands
a. Amsterdam:
For celebrating my birthday, what could be a better place than Amsterdam. We had enjoyed the most romantic walk on the narrow streets along with the canals of the city, the fanatic night life and off course the Cruising in the canals.
b. Zaanse Schans:
The typical Dutch village with traditional wind mill and home of Dutch Cheese which attract lots of tourists and travelers. We have visited it in the beginning of October of 2018.
8. Portugal
a. Porto:
We have visited Porto in the mid of October 2018. It’s a best city for the couples with an amazing culture and rich architecture.
The city has the amazing view of the river with the best cafés located on the bank of the river.
b. Guimarães:
The city is next to Porto and highly accessible with Public trains. It’s a birth place of the Portugal and famous for his historical importance.
9. Spain
a. Mallorca:
We were just randomly checking the flights on Skyscanner and found the ticket of Euro 22 for the round trip from Düsseldorf to Mallorca. The Island is a perfect combination of beaches, history and architecture in Palma and mountainous valley.
b. Madrid:
The Spanish capital and the home of Real Madrid, we stayed in Madrid for three days and visited the city more than twice and totally loved it.
10. Azerbaijan
a. Baku:
To enjoy the best cuisine of the world, we had reached to Azerbaijan and decided to welcome the new Year from the roof top of Hilton Baku.
11. Luxembourg:
One of the finest countries of Europe, we have been there in the chilled winter and enjoyed the tracking on the snow and old town of Luxembourg.
12. Croatia
a. Zagreb:
We had been to Zagreb in December 2018 to enjoy the Christmas festivity of 2018. The city has best Christmas markets in unique landscape in upper and lower town.

Time to visit the Kings landing- Dubrovnik- After being in 12 countries together, it was a time to conquer the Kings landing.
As we were crazy fans of Game of thrones, we went there in the last week of Year 2018.
13. Pakistan
Since the time we got married, we did not get the chance to explore Pakistan together.
In 2019, we took a short vacations and explored the street of old Lahore, Islamabad and Bhurban together.
14. Austria
a. Salzburg:
Salzburg turns into a winter wonderland every winters. We had been there in winters of 2018 and enjoyed a wonderland day in Mirabell Palace and Fortress Hohensalzburg.
b. Graz:
Graz is the second largest city of Austria and famous for its tradition, culture and Culinary delight.
15. Italy
a. Naples:
To celebrates Aoon's Birthday on March 13th, we decided a trip to Italy covering Naples and Amalfi Coast. But due to the Coronavirus outbreak in Italy, we have been to Naples for two days and decided to come back earlier without visiting Amalfi Coast.
The experience in Naples was quite different due to Cornavirus. Although, city was totally opened but less crowded and the Museums were also closed . We had visited almost all the landmarks of Naples except Palaces and Castles from inside. To be honest, we aren't so impressed with a city. Definitely, we won't be going back to see Naples again but Yes. we will plan for Amalfi once the situation is better in Europe.
